My Philosophy 

At Anushka Talpur Therapy, I am well-versed in utilizing various therapeutic approaches to cater to the unique needs of my clients. One of the modalities I employ is psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on exploring the unconscious dynamics within an individual's mind and how these dynamics shape their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. By examining past patterns and relationships, we can delve deep into the root causes of present-day challenges.


In addition to psychodynamic therapy, I also incorporate the
relational approach into my practice. This approach emphasizes the significance of the therapeutic relationship and the impact it can have on healing and change. By creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space, I enable my clients to engage in a collaborative exploration of their experiences, fostering personal growth, and promoting a sense of connection.


Furthermore, I utilize
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a powerful tool to help individuals identify and modify self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. Through this approach, clients gain insight into their belief systems and learn effective coping strategies, enabling them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.


Lastly, I have received specialized training in the
Gottman approach, which is rooted in the principles of relationship science. This approach focuses on enhancing communication, deepening emotional connection, and fostering intimacy in couples. By employing evidence-based techniques and interventions, I assist couples in building a strong foundation, resolving conflicts, and nurturing long-lasting, fulfilling relationships.


By integrating both Eastern and Western philosophies and combining psychodynamic, relational, CBT, and the Gottman approach, I work holistically with my clients. Together, we explore the intricate connections between the body, mind, and soul, unearthing the profound impact of past experiences on their present moment. Through this comprehensive approach, my clients gain a greater understanding of themselves, find practical solutions, attain tranquility, and develop inner strength.

Having grown up in different cultures, I use my experience and perspective to help clients from diverse backgrounds understand the impact of cultural systems in their daily lives.  

Through compassion, warmth and humour I meet my clients where they are in life and build a therapeutic relationship where they can safely dive into the depths of what is happening in their life.

MY PRACTICE

I work with individuals and couples dealing with spiritual, personal, and cultural issues. I help with issues of anxiety, depression, relationships, work stress, maternal mental health, and burnout.  Along with those experiences transitions in life such as marriage, moving, parenthood.
